The first session will take place on Tuesday, March 31, discussing “How to model a power system.” Future sessions will include detailed discussion and demonstration of methods for analyzing and resolving short circuits; power flow; motor starting; protective device coordination, arc flash, and other power system issues. Depending on the requirements of participants’ particular state, these sessions may qualify towards licensed engineers’ Continuing Education requirements through IEEE.
“EDSA’s on-staff experts have designed, analyzed and optimized hundreds of the most complex, mission-critical power systems on the planet, and have written numerous textbooks on power systems engineering,” said Mark Colby, vice president and general manager of EDSA’s DesignBase Business Unit. “We initially envisioned our Continuing Education series as being for the sole benefit of our existing customers; however we decided to open them to the power systems engineering community at-large as a means to help them stay abreast of the rapidly changing technologies available to solve their engineering challenges.”
Sessions will take place at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT. To participate, remote participants need only register in advance and have a computer system connected to the internet; there are no downloads or plug-ins required. For more information on the EDSA Continuing Education programs, or to register, visit www.edsa.com or in the United States, call EDSA at 800-362-0603.
